Single-vehicle crash occurred at the junction with Highway 17, with the section of road between the off-ramps remaining closed this morning

A Sudbury woman is dead following a single-vehicle crash at the junction between Highway 17 and Highway 69 last night.
Ontario Provincial Police officers from the Sudbury detachment (which is a stone’s throw from the site of the crash) were dispatched to the scene at approximately 2:50 a.m. on April 26.
“The lone driver, a 42-year-old female from Sudbury, was transported to the area hospital with serious life-threatening injuries,” police said.
The woman later died from the injuries she sustained.
The southbound lanes at the Highway 17 junction, between the west and east bound off-ramps, were closed for about nine hours following the crash, and reopened this morning at around 10 a.m.
“The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from the OPP Technical Collision Investigation and Reconstruction teams to determine the cause of the collision,” the OPP said.
Police ask that anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who might have dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at ontariocrimestoppers.ca. (Ref. E260560379)
